For whom is the Beyond Obedience class?

Owners: People who enjoy staying active with their dog.

Dog skills requirements: Dogs that have completed the Obedience Course and Advanced Obedience Course (or a similar course at another dog school).

Temperament requirements :

Dogs who are sociable to humans and dogs
Dogs that show no aggression or tension, even when toys, food or bones are present
Dogs that can remain calm in a group environment, even when waiting their turn, without extreme frustration or over-excitement

Note: This course does not address behavioral issues. If your dog has behavioral problems, our canine behavior therapist can assist you further.

7Program: The following themes

(Each theme consists of 5 lessons)

Rally-O: from Monday, November 3 (Scheveningen). One spot available from the 17th of November. Walk a course together with your dog, filled with signs. Each sign shows an exercise with an obedience task or an agility element. We can guarantee that some of the exercises will really challenge you to practice 😉. Along the way, you’re allowed to keep encouraging, talking to, and rewarding your dog. It’s not about strict perfection, but about teamwork, fun, and bonding with your dog.
Recall (“Here!”): starting Monday, January 12 (Scheveningen). Whether your dog is happily sniffing around, playing with another dog, or sprinting full speed after a rabbit—you always want them to come back when you call. In this course, we focus on building the skills your dog needs for a rock-solid recall.
Junior Assistance Dog: starting Thursday, January 29 (Scheveningen). This theme is all about helpful tricks. Teach your dog fun and practical skills to lend a paw around the house.
Self-control / impulse control: Starting Monday, February 23 (Scheveningen). Could your dog use a bit more self-control in certain situations? Think of suddenly pulling on the leash or becoming completely distracted by a child with a ball or a cat under a car. Then this theme is for you. During these lessons, we will specifically work on reducing reactions to certain triggers, creating more calmness and therefore more opportunities for your dog to refocus on you. Please note: this is not suitable for dogs that may show aggression in these situations.
Agility fun: Starting Monday, April 6 (Scheveningen). One of the most popular themes! Together with your dog, you will run a course with jumps and tunnels. Step by step, we teach the different elements, including the seesaw and slalom. We teach agility in a fun way, focusing on enjoyment and without competition regulations.

We (Pocky & I) recently completed the 'Do as I Do' course, and we absolutely loved it! The content is both fun and challenging, and it’s one of the tricks I want to continue developing with Pocky. We’ve taken courses at OhMyDog, from puppy classes to Beyond Obedience (OB), and in each course, I learn something new and useful to better understand my dog and guide her in a positive way. Laure-Anne and all the trainers we've met are very passionate and knowledgeable about dogs, so a big thank you to all of you! We’ll definitely be back for another Beyond theme! 🙂

We recently completed the "Do as I Do" course with our three-year-old Cane Corso at OhMyDog, and it was once again a fantastic experience! After having previously attended the puppy and obedience classes, we already knew we were in good hands with Laure-Anne and her colleagues. The personal attention and tailored advice helped us make more progress in just five weeks than we expected. Our dog really enjoyed it, and it has certainly strengthened our bond. The classes are held at a beautiful location with ample parking. We look forward to taking more of their courses in the future!

With our dog Atum, we followed the Beyond Obedience course, “Personality Testing” online. It was great to do from our own living room, with very fun and surprising results. The first lesson took place in the field, but after that, due to the lockdown, it was online from home. This course was perfect for that because we could complete the tests in a calm and relaxed manner. Atum now has his 5th diploma from OhMyDog, and we’ve already signed up for the next Beyond Obedience course, “Tracking.” We can’t wait to start again A big thank you to all the OhMyDog staff who made it possible for us to continue training with our dog in this way. I can only speak in superlatives about my experience with dog school Oh My Dog in The Hague! Since I got Pippin, I have been here for puppy classes, various obedience classes, and private lessons. Romy and Stephanie are fantastic trainers, just like the other trainers I have met. Their evidence-based approach with positive reinforcement really sets them apart. What makes this dog school extra special are the small class sizes, which provide a lot of personal attention and space to practice. Despite half an hour's travel time from Delft, it is always worth it. In addition, we also took Beyond Obedience, which is a great way to engage together. I highly recommend Oh My Dog!

Beyond Obedience was created by a group of enthusiastic students who wanted to continue after completing the basic courses. To create an opportunity to stay engaged long-term, the idea of themes was born.

You can enroll your dog in a theme that appeals to you. With each theme, you learn new things, such as a new training principle, new skills or fun tricks, or you discover a new dog sport. Each theme consists of 5 lessons.
