On 11 January 2017, OhMyDog will move for what we hope is the last time.
Check out our field adventures of the last two years:
- After three happy years in our beautiful field in Scheveningen, we got chased away by the planned construction of a giant car park.
- So we moved to a beautiful nature reserve in the Vogelbuurt, with the gemeente’s blessing, only to be greeted by the news, a month later, that they were turning it into a grazing area for their Scottish Highland Cows, and we could never make the field light enough without disturbing the wildlife.
- So we moved to the beautiful Ferguson scouting yard in the bloemenbuurt. We soon discovered that even there, the lighting was not enough in the winter months. And, in the middle of a populated neighbourhood, space quickly became very limited. We tried to train on the neighbouring fields too, but the gemeente does not like the idea.
Which leads us to the beautiful Brigitta Valentijn scouting field in Kijkduin. It is much larger (but also fenced), and one kilometer away from the nearest inhabited street. This means we won’t worry every time a dog lets out an occasional bark. We have also asked that they install flood lights on all our training points, which is a problem that had been plaguing us for years. It has its own parking and is right next to the beautiful Ockenburgh. And, it is gorgeous!
Fourth time lucky for OhMyDoggers?
